- ROSSOW-TESSMANN.
A very pretty wedding was solemnised at the Baptist Church, Cairns, on Saturday afternoon, October 15, at 3 o'clock, when Rene Linda Tessmann, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Tessmann, Kingaroy (Qld,), was married to Lionel Charles Rossow, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. ROSSOW, of 66 Sheridan-street, Cairns.
The bride entered the church on the arm of the bridegroom's father and she looked very sweet in a powder blue street frock, which was made with a very full new look skirt. It had lace insertions in the waist. She also wore a shoulder spray of white carnations and frangipani and blue mittens. Her halo hat with spray and veiling completed the ensemble. For "something old" she wore her mother's brooch. For "something borrowed" she carried the bridegroom's mother's prayer book, with a white satin bow.
The bride was attended by a friend, Mrs. Frances Shanks, as matron of honour. Her frock was of floral silk crepe made with a drape and a spray of carnations and frangipani was worn on the shoulder to match her frock. Black accessories completed her ensemble.
The duties of best man were carried out by Mr. Colin Collinson, a close friend of the bridegroom.
The reception was held at the home of the matron of honour, where light refreshments were served and the beautifully decorated wedding cake was cut.
